Bourbon choco. chip cookie

YIELDS: 24-30 cookies | TIME: 20 mins. | SKILL SET: Easy

I've become a big fan of bourbon over the last couple of years, so you can imagine how overjoyed I was to be able to incorporate it into this classic baked good. Here's how it's done:

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 7 tablespoons of bourbon (I use Bulleit bourbon)
  • 2/3 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Id also recommend having all your ingredients at room temperature before you begin.

Combine your dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt) in a bowl and set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugars in a stand mixer. Add in the egg and beat on low. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Begin adding in your bourbon, one tablespoon at a time.

On low speed, add your dry ingredients to the mix. Once well combined, add in chocolate chips.

(Optional step) To keep the cookies from spreading, place your cookie dough in the freezer for 1-2 hours.

Scoop your cookies from the mixing bowl onto your cookie sheet and bake for roughly 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let the cookie cool before placing them in your cookie jar.
