It's no secret I like booze paired with my sweets. This one's quick and simple for a cold winter's night.
- 1-2% Milk, or, Half-and-half cream if you wish
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
- Dark rum (in this case, I used Kraken Spiced rum)
- Hot chocolate mix
- Plastic spoons
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Do this increments to not burn the chocolate.
Dip the plastic spoon into the melted chocolate making sure to cover the entire bowl of the spoon. Place parchment paper and let cool. To speed this up, place in the fridge.
Boil water for your hot chocolate. Mix boiling water and hot chocolate mix based on packet instructions.
Add 1.5 oz of rum to each mug.
Using a milk frother, froth some milk to top your warm treat.
Serve with a chocolate spoon and enjoy! The chocolate covered spoon will add richness to your hot chocolate.
